Description
Titled after the Puerto Rican Spanish word for dyke, it challenges the normalization of the word "queer" as something everyone in the LBGT+ unbrella must identify as and that creates neglecful assumptions about "queer" people's lives and desires. Talks about the domination of whiteness in conceptualizations of lesbianism, narrating the challenges of navigating a non-white lesbianism that is further complicated by oversimplified racial classifications.
